THE VA DOESN’T UNDERSTAND COMPLEX CONDITIONS LIKE SYRINGOMYELIA
The veteran community often struggles with getting validation through proper rating for complex conditions such as syringomyelia. Our Co-founder, James, experienced this first hand as a veteran going through the VA claims process. At SAAC, we want to be an additional resource for veterans that helps get better information on this diagnosis, and how to increase the chances for success when submitting a claim for syringomyelia.
One of the many ways we can get the VA to better understand and properly rate this condition, is to directly communicate with them the impact it has on one’s physical and mental health. The VA has a very specific rating system with conditions all having their own “codes” that direct raters on how to rate the disability. With syringomyelia being a progressive degenerative condition, the VA needs to treat and rate it as highly incapacitating for the individual.
As SAAC grows, we will update on any and all efforts on this front. You served out country, now it’s time for the community to serve you. In the meantime, we highly encourage you to reach out to us via email or any of our social media platforms with any questions, concerns or suggestions. Thank you for your sacrifice.
